Addiction takes a toll on the body. Poor sleep, lack of nutrients, and physical exhaustion can all weaken mental health and make cravings stronger. That’s why rebuilding physical health is a key part of holistic recovery.

Why nutrition matters: Substances often strip the body of essential vitamins and minerals. Balanced meals with fruits, vegetables, proteins, and whole grains help the brain and body repair themselves.
Why movement matters:
Regular movement doesn’t have to mean intense workouts. Walking, stretching, yoga, or swimming release endorphins — natural mood boosters that help reduce stress and cravings.
Why sleep matters:
Addiction often disrupts sleep cycles. Restful sleep repairs the brain, improves focus, and supports emotional balance.
What you can do today:
Drink plenty of water.
Add more whole foods into your meals.
Move your body in ways you enjoy.
Set a bedtime routine.
Taking care of your body is not separate from recovery — it’s part of healing your whole self.
